Lawmakers serve the public interest
when they show independent-mindedness
Sen. Ben Sasse and Rep. Don Bacon deserve credit for their recent displays of independent-mindedness. They have stood up, in the face of partisan criticism, for responsible behavior in Washington. Their actions are in line with a Nebraska tradition of similar independent judgment by Bob Kerrey and Chuck Hagel when they
served in the Senate.
Defending Main Street Super PAC

The Defending Main Street (DMS) Super PAC is one of the nation’s most effective independent-expenditure organizations. The races we enter are in key, contested districts across the country that are crucial to securing a Republican majority in Congress. Once in office, our Members have been prolific, passing hundreds of no nonsense, commonsense bills through the House, the Senate, or both.
We defend key incumbent Republican seats and identify new candidates whom we can push to victory. In 2022, 90% of candidates we supported won. More than 94 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to helping our candidates. We go into targeted districts, identify key voters, survey them, talk with them, and follow up by micro-targeting them online and through the mail. Our messaging reflects a deep understanding of the issues and values that each district’s voters are looking for.
