WASHINGTON – The Republican Main Street Partnership (RMSP) today announced the addition of Congressman Bill Shuster (PA-9) to its membership.

Shuster serves as Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, one of the largest committees in Congress, which currently has jurisdiction over all modes of transportation: aviation, maritime and waterborne transportation, roads, mass transit and railroads.  Shuster has served on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee since coming to Congress in 2001.

“Chairman Shuster is a welcome addition to the distinguished membership of the Republican Main Street Partnership and the Main Street family, the largest and longest standing organization of Members of Congress outside Capitol Hill,” said Sarah Chamberlain, President and CEO of RMSP.

With the addition of Chairman Shuster, the Republican Main Street Partnership now represents 73 Members of Congress, including four U.S. Senators, who believe in the importance of conservative principles in economic and national security policy and believe in governing in a thoughtful and pragmatic manner.

The two-decade old Republican Main Street Partnership represents the governing wing of the Republican Party. Main Street’s membership is comprised of fiscally conservative elected officials along with individuals and entities that support its mission.  Main Street members authored nearly two hundred pieces of legislation passed in the current Congress.
